PURA MANGKUNEGARAN BATIK
Mangkunegaran batik design styles are like those of Surakarta, but have a yellowish - brown soga color. Moreover, Mangkunegaran batik has been taken a step ahead of Kasunanan batik in the creation of designs. This is evident in the quantity of batik designs at the Mangkunegaran. Furthermore, the beauty of Mangkunegaran batik designs reflects a mature work of art through the organization of fillings, isen, the placement of ornaments constructing designs, and a more feminine and harmonious presentation. Mangkunegaran batik is made by Surakartan batik entrepreneurs who generally also make batik cloth for the Kasunanan.

Well-known batik designs of the pura Mangkunegaran are Buketan Pakis (design of Ibu Bei Mardusari), Sapanti Nata, Ole-ole, Wahyu Tumurun, and Parang Kesit Barong. It must be acknowledged that the Mangkunegaran has a wealth of truly creative batik artists, amongst whom ranked Ibu Kanjeng Mangunkusumo and Ibu Bei Mardusari, the last-named being not only a batiker and batik designer, but also a famed dancer and traditional vocalist.
